Kate Desrochers is currently the projects and initiatives manager for Packetized Energy, a Burlington company providing distributed energy resource (DER) coordination. Prior to joining Packetized, Kate worked in the Consultative Services division at VEIC, as part of the grid integration and planning team. She provided state agencies and private organizations expert regulatory and deployment support on grid modernization and renewable energy integration, including review and analysis of non-transmission alternative plans for Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, and Vermont, among others. Kate was also a core team member of the Vermont Solar Market Pathways project, an investigation into the pathway to and impact of high solar penetration in Vermont as Vermont pursues its goal of achieving 20 percent of electrical demand by 2025. Throughout this work, she collaborated with many stakeholders across the state to synthesize potential useful scenarios and examine ways to alleviate the “duck curve” caused by increased solar installation.
