Karen Glitman brings more than 30 years of policy advocacy and public service experience to her role as Senior Manager, Market Development and Policy at the Center for Sustainable Energy (CSE), a mission-based non-profit dedicated to accelerating the transition to a sustainable world powered by clean energy. Headquartered in San Diego, CSE works nationwide with offices in Boston, Brooklyn, Long Island, Oakland, and Los Angeles.
Karen worked at VEIC for 7 years in a number of roles including as Director of Efficiency Vermont, as its founding Director of Transportation Efficiency, and as its Director of Strategy, Policy, and Public Affairs.
Prior to joining VEIC, Karen served as the Director of the University of Vermont’s National University Transportation Center and interim co-Director of its Transportation Research Center. She served as the Vermont Clean Cities Coalition Coordinator; held the positions of Director of Policy and Planning, Deputy Secretary, and Acting Secretary at the Vermont Agency of Transportation; and served as a member of the Vermont House of Representatives. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Vermont and is a member of the Vermont Bar.
