Geoff Martin is the Energy Coordinator for the Town of Hartford, working to expand the town-wide energy program for the municipality and the community at large. In his role, he is implementing, monitoring, and developing the Town’s five-year Energy Action Plan and Comprehensive Energy Plan. His focus is on reducing energy consumption and overall costs, employing new technologies and best practices, and contributing to a cleaner environment. Geoff came to Hartford after completing his Master’s in Environmental Sciences at Emory University. Geoff’s thesis, “Effectiveness of state climate and energy policies in reducing power sector CO2 emissions”, analyzed the impact of 17 different state-level policies on carbon dioxide emissions, and was published in the journal Nature Climate Change. Before attending Emory, Geoff worked as a BPI Certified Home Energy Advisor under the Mass Save program, Massachusetts’ energy efficiency program.
