Elizabeth Chant is a Managing Consultant at Optimal Energy, Inc., working at the intersection of equity and sustainable energy. In 2018, she left Vermont Energy Investment Corporation (VEIC), where she was a Principal Consultant on energy efficiency policy and programming for low-income people and multifamily buildings. She was with VEIC for a total of 13 years. Twice, she led the development of winning proposals for VEIC’s DC Sustainable Energy Utility (DC SEU), as well as the DCSEU’s recent five-year strategic plan. Elizabeth served for eight years as Weatherization Director at CVOEO, Vermont’s largest provider of Weatherization Assistance Program services. Prior to that, she was at VEIC, leading its award-winning multifamily programming and led low-income multifamily programming during Efficiency Vermont’s early years. Elizabeth currently serves on the boards of directors of the National Housing Trust and ThreeCubed, and has served on the boards of the National Energy and Utility Affordability Coalition, the Home Performance Council, and Vermont Low-Income Advocacy Council.
