Dr. Tara Kulkarni, P.E. is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, and the Director of the Center for Global Resilience and Security (CGRS) at Norwich University. She teaches classes on Fluid Mechanics, Environmental Engineering, Water and Wastewater Treatment, Hydrogeology, and Sustainability. Her research interests are in green infrastructure, sustainable water resources management, innovative treatment of nutrients in stormwater and agricultural runoff, and building community resilience. She is also actively involved in K-12 STEM outreach, and community engagement.
Since its launch, Dr. Kulkarni is actively leading several CGRS projects including the coordination of the Resilient Vermont Network, the Dog River Conservancy, the Academic Resilience Collaborative, and newer initiatives in energy resilience and environmental security.
Dr. Kulkarni’s terminal degree is from Florida State University. Her previous professional experience is in state government and management consulting.
