Workforce Development in Vermont’s Thermal Sector

Raquel SmithRaquel Smith participated in EAN’s summer 2021 intern cohort. She joined EAN as a recent graduate from Middlebury College (Middlebury 2021), where she holds a BA in Environmental Policy and a minor in Anthropology. She was introduced to EAN’s work through her senior year capstone project, during which she worked on outreach for EAN’s ‘Replace Your Ride’ network action team. She hopes to continue on a career path that combines her passions for writing, research, storytelling, and climate policy.

During her time at EAN, Raquel conducted a study on workforce development in Vermont’s thermal sector, and the challenges and opportunities it faces for meeting the state’s climate and emissions goals.
